Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of medical professionals involved in the care of patients with acute life-threatening situations.

Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Recognize the specific needs of a patient in an acutely life-threatening situation (e.g. cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest)
  • Respond with the appropriate life support algorithm
  • Provide appropriate care in response to rapidly changing patient needs
  • Identify normal and abnormal electrocardiograms
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the types and dosages of medications used in ACLS and PALS
  • Apply skills related to working as part of an interdisciplinary team

During the period of August 22, 2014 through December 31, 2018, participants must read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures, study the educational activity and successfully complete the embedded post-test questions with a score of 80% or better.
