ACLS Certification by State

Why we offer our online CME courses

The main reason the founders of ACLS Medical Training decided to offer their BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification courses online was a matter of quality and accessibility. Brick-and-mortar classes lead by an instructor who is reading off a PowerPoint is outdated. As the number of medical professionals has increased over the past two decades, the number of opportunities for brick-and-mortar continuing education classes has decreased. At the same time, length of a CME course has been increasing—now up to two full days—even though the content covered has largely stayed the same.

Traditional ACLS certification classes are fewer and farther between

Renewing your ACLS certification in a brick-and-mortar classroom setting has become a chore rather than a high-quality refresher or straightforward learning experience. Medical professionals may be forced to shutter their practices, call off a shift, find peers to cover, or even use vacation or weekend days to recertify. If you practice in a large city like New York or San Francisco, you may not need to travel too far, but you still must wait until the next course is offered. Plus, you have to make a space in your calendar to meet it. The situation is even worse for practitioners in remote areas of the world. Medical professionals sometimes have to travel hundreds of miles to attend the nearest brick-and-mortar ACLS course, covering the cost of their own travel and lodgings.

Traditional ACLS certification classes travel at the speed of the instructor

One of the biggest gripes that medical professionals have with ACLS recertification is that these courses are taught at the speed of the instructor, not the speed of the learner. The examination comes at the end of the course—you need to show up and sit through 1-2 days of trainings just to take the exam. If you already have a working knowledge of advanced life support and just need a refresher, traditional brick-and-mortar classes can seem like a profound waste of time. Ideally, providers could learn the material and take the test on their own time. This is perhaps the biggest reason that ACLS Medical Training offers their content and examination in an accessible format—to meet the needs of busy medical professionals.

Online ACLS certification is in your state and in your city

ACLS Medical Training looks at ACLS, PALS, and BLS classes differently than most do. We are offering a class in your city and your state right now. When the materials are online, you can study when you have the time. You can take the certification examination when you are ready, not when the whole class or the instructor is ready. ACLS Medical Training cuts out the cost of travel and lodging because there is always a class available when you are available. Whether you are in Cincinnati, Ohio or Anchorage, Alaska, if you have an internet connection, you can complete your continuing education with us.
