Online Neonatal Resuscitation Certification for Healthcare Providers
Ten percent of neonates do not successfully make the transition from fetus to newborn and need some level of medical assistance. This means that every medical professional who works in Labor and Delivery or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) should have a deep understanding of the principles and practice of neonatal resuscitation. The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is for healthcare professionals who care for newborns at the time of delivery.
Who Should Take This Course?
The neonatal resuscitation certification course is designed for healthcare professionals including physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, midwives, medical students, and residents. Most medical professionals who work in Pediatrics, Neonatology, Labor and Delivery, Obstetrics, Anesthesiology, Surgery, or Critical Care Medicine should develop a mastery of neonatal resuscitation and keep their certification up to date. Certainly, any medical professional who cares for patients from birth to the first week of life should take this course.
Learners will be required to pass a 50-question exam to determine whether they have mastered the knowledge provided in this course. While successful completion of the examination is sufficient to receive a certification card, it does not ensure competency. Competency is the responsibility of the local hospital or clinical setting in which the provider is employed.
