Target Audience

This activity is designed for healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients in emergency settings.

Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be better able to:

Recognize the specific needs of patients in acutely life-threatening situations (e.g., cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest)
Respond with the appropriate life support algorithm
Provide appropriate care in response to rapidly changing patient needs
Identify normal and abnormal electrocardiograms
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the types and dosages of medications used in ACLS and PALS
